How to translate a product description while preserving product facts
Product translation needs to communicate the same item accurately to another audience. The challenge is to adapt wording without changing specifications, included items or commercial claims.
Start with the right material.
- What you provide
- a product description and target language.
- The intended result
- Save localized copy that preserves specifications, units and safety wording.
How the workflow works.
Supply the source description, target locale and approved terminology. Keep quantities, measurements and model references consistent, and identify conversions or terminology choices that require confirmation.
What to check in the result.
Check the translation against the actual product record before publishing. Natural local wording should not introduce unsupported benefits, certifications, compatibility or warranty terms.
Import the CSV with a consistent delimiter and inspect text identifiers, dates and amounts before using spreadsheet totals. Keep the original file available while checking any automatic type conversion.
Learn from the worked example.
