A PRACTICAL GUIDE

How to understand the comments behind an NPS score

NPS comments explain why respondents gave their ratings. Analyzing that text can reveal experiences behind the score and help teams decide which questions to investigate next.

Start with the right material.

The intended result

How the workflow works.

Keep each comment attached to its supplied rating and identify the reasons the respondent actually mentions. Separate stated problems from proposed explanations that the text does not establish.

What to check in the result.

Reconcile any counts with the selected responses and preserve mixed feedback. Comments alone do not provide the full survey's NPS unless the required rating data and calculation basis are supplied.

Preview the Markdown to check headings, lists and links as well as the words. Keep source references with the document so a reviewer can trace important statements back to the material you supplied.

Learn from the worked example.

The downloadable Markdown example shows one possible organization of the result. Read it alongside the source example and notice which statements are recorded facts, proposed wording or questions still needing an answer.

The supplied example is illustrative. It is not a recorded run on your data.

What input does this NPS Comment Analyzer need?

a visible NPS report with scores and comments. Expand the relevant content and share only the context needed for this task.

What should I check in the result?

Setup friction in the low-score sample; support praise in high-score sample. Use explicit scores and a supplied scale. No inferring scores from comment sentiment.

Does the result represent all my customers?

The result covers only the feedback you select. Keep the sample size and supporting text visible. Categories and interpretations need review; they are not a population-wide finding.

Can I use this on the Free plan?

Yes. Install the Chrome extension, verify your WebAct account and use an available ChatGPT browser connection in the same Chrome profile. Free includes 25 user-started automation tasks per calendar month (UTC), shared across all tools. A task counts when its first action starts; steps and necessary retries within that task do not count separately. Provider limits apply. After 25 tasks, upgrade or wait for the reset.

Does this page run the task?

This page provides an illustrative example and a task to copy. Run it through WebAct on the source page you activate. Selected page context is processed by your browser AI provider. An ordinary answer in browser Chat uses no WebAct automation allowance; creating a file or changing fields in Task mode does.
