How to turn job listings into an application research sheet
A job-listing export helps you compare roles and keep track of the postings behind an application decision. Consistent columns make it easier to separate required qualifications from location and employment details.
Start with the right material.
- What you provide
- one loaded jobs results page.
- The intended result
- Capture visible job titles, employers, locations and job links without applying.
How the workflow works.
Capture the employer, role and posting URL for each selected listing. Preserve the wording of location and compensation conditions, and keep an explicitly remote role distinct from a role whose workplace is unspecified.
What to check in the result.
Reopen the posting before applying and confirm that it is still available. Missing salary information should stay missing; a location or role title is not enough to infer pay or eligibility.
Import the CSV with a consistent delimiter and inspect text identifiers, dates and amounts before using spreadsheet totals. Keep the original file available while checking any automatic type conversion.
Learn from the worked example.
The downloadable CSV example uses these columns: Job title, Employer, Location, Job URL, Salary. Compare a complete record with the source before sorting, combining or importing your own output.
The supplied example is illustrative. It is not a recorded run on your data.
