Yes. Asana documents project CSV export through the menu beside the project title, under Export/Print. Use that for a standard project export. This WebAct recipe is for a small readable selection with custom columns.
Are subtasks and custom fields included?
Only if they are expanded, readable and included in the selected context. Request a Parent task column when exporting subtasks. Do not assume a collapsed subtask count provides the subtask names or their fields.
Will this update Google Sheets when Asana changes?
No. You download a one-time CSV and can import it into a spreadsheet. Native integrations or a workflow platform are better suited to recurring synchronization.
Can it calculate which tasks are overdue?
This export preserves the displayed dates. For an overdue report, supply an explicit reference date, timezone and rule for completed tasks. Do not infer overdue status from color alone.
What should I check in the result?
Both tasks retain the Website section; the unassigned task keeps blank assignee and due-date cells. Collapsed subtasks, hidden custom fields, unloaded sections and comments are excluded. The selection is not a complete project backup or a recurring Google Sheets sync.
Can I use this on the Free plan?
Yes. Install the Chrome extension, verify your WebAct account and use an available ChatGPT browser connection in the same Chrome profile. Free includes 25 user-started automation tasks per calendar month (UTC), shared across all tools. A task counts when its first action starts; steps and necessary retries within that task do not count separately. Provider limits apply. After 25 tasks, upgrade or wait for the reset.
Does this page run the task?
