How to plan interview questions around job-relevant evidence
An interview plan helps a team ask consistent questions that reveal relevant experience and reasoning. It is useful when the role requirements and evaluation criteria are clear.
Start with the right material.
- What you provide
- a role description plus employer-supplied competency criteria.
- The intended result
- Save job-relevant questions and evidence prompts, without candidate scoring.
How the workflow works.
Connect each question to an actual responsibility or competency and decide what evidence a useful answer might contain. Separate core questions from optional follow-ups prompted by the candidate's response.
What to check in the result.
Review the plan for relevance, fairness and the organization's approved process. Avoid questions that infer or seek protected personal information rather than evidence about the work.

Learn from the worked example.
The downloadable Markdown example shows one possible organization of the result. Read it alongside the source example and notice which statements are recorded facts, proposed wording or questions still needing an answer.
