How to use the Pivot Table Planner.
A pivot plan should answer a specific question and define aggregation. Summing an identifier is not meaningful just because the field is numeric.
Make the workflow fit your task.
Start with the question, then assign grouping fields to rows and columns and a meaningful measure to values. Choose aggregation deliberately and define filters, currency and date granularity. Compare the pivot grand total with the source before interpreting segments.

Example input
Columns: region, month and revenue; question: revenue by region and month.
Completed example
Rows: region. Columns: month. Values: sum of revenue. Confirm currency and any filters.
Load this input into the prompt, then copy it to WebAct to try the task. Your result may differ from the illustration.
Decisions and troubleshooting.
When should a pivot use count rather than sum?
Use count for the number of eligible records, and sum for additive quantities. Distinct counts need a separate supported configuration.
Why does revenue appear as Count of revenue?
Some source values may be text or mixed types. Inspect the field and choose a numeric aggregation only after correcting the source.
Try it with your own source.
Replace the example with your material in the task prompt. Keep the requirements you need, then copy the task into WebAct.
