How to use the Spreadsheet Fuzzy Match Tool.
Fuzzy matches are candidates for review, not confirmed identities. Use contextual fields and retain uncertain alternatives.
Make the workflow fit your task.
Normalize only agreed differences, such as case and punctuation, then compare candidate names alongside stable supporting fields. Show why each pair was suggested and retain alternatives. Use a review threshold appropriate to the cost of an incorrect merge.
- What you provide
- Two small lists and matching criteria.
- What you get

Decisions and troubleshooting.
Can similar company names be merged automatically?
A similar name is insufficient by itself. Verify supporting identifiers or address information before combining records.
Why are two different businesses scoring highly as a match?
Shared words can dominate a similarity score. Inspect distinguishing tokens, locations and identifiers instead of treating the score as identity proof.
Try it with your own source.
Replace the example with your material in the task prompt. Keep the requirements you need, then copy the task into WebAct.
