How to extract the details needed to answer a quote request
Quote requests become easier to compare when quantities, specifications and timing are captured consistently. The tool helps prepare the information a supplier or sales team needs before calculating an offer.
Start with the right material.
- What you provide
- a visible request for quotation.
- The intended result
- Extract requested items, quantities, specifications and response deadline into CSV.
How the workflow works.
Keep requested items and their units together, and preserve delivery or specification conditions attached to particular lines. Mark unclear quantities or missing dimensions as questions for the requester.
What to check in the result.
Check that package counts and individual units have not been mixed. A complete-looking table still needs clarification when the request omits a detail that would change price or suitability.
Import the CSV with a consistent delimiter and inspect text identifiers, dates and amounts before using spreadsheet totals. Keep the original file available while checking any automatic type conversion.
Learn from the worked example.
