How to organize event listings into a planning sheet
An event list becomes more useful when dates, venues and registration links can be compared side by side. This tool helps prepare a planning sheet from the listings you have actually selected.
Start with the right material.
- What you provide
- a loaded event listing with dates and venues.
- The intended result
- Create an event table preserving displayed timezone and flagging missing dates.
How the workflow works.
Keep each event's title, date, time and location together. Preserve a timezone when one is stated, and distinguish an online event from a physical venue instead of forcing both into an address field.
What to check in the result.
Verify the dates and registration links before making plans. A listing is a snapshot: postponed events, sold-out sessions and later schedule changes require another check with the organizer.
Import the CSV with a consistent delimiter and inspect text identifiers, dates and amounts before using spreadsheet totals. Keep the original file available while checking any automatic type conversion.
Learn from the worked example.
The downloadable CSV example uses these columns: Event, Date, Time, Timezone, Venue. Compare a complete record with the source before sorting, combining or importing your own output.
The supplied example is illustrative. It is not a recorded run on your data.
