How to suggest product categories using an actual catalog taxonomy
Category suggestions help organize a catalog when product descriptions vary in wording. A useful suggestion explains how the item fits the categories your store actually uses.
Start with the right material.

- Suggest category assignments with evidence; do not update the live store.
How the workflow works.
Supply the category tree and the product's verified attributes. Choose the closest supported category and distinguish a confident fit from cases where the taxonomy or description leaves a gap.
What to check in the result.
Review uncertain assignments before updating the catalog. A category name can imply a use or compatibility claim, so the suggestion should not create facts the listing does not establish.
Import the CSV with a consistent delimiter and inspect text identifiers, dates and amounts before using spreadsheet totals. Keep the original file available while checking any automatic type conversion.
