How to extract product details without mixing variants
Product extraction creates a structured record from the facts visible in a selected listing. It is useful for catalog preparation, comparison or checking a supplier's information.
Start with the right material.
- What you provide
- one loaded product or category page.
- The intended result
- Export visible names, prices, currencies, SKUs, availability and product links.
How the workflow works.
Keep identifiers, product names and variant-specific details together. Distinguish attributes of the selected item from descriptions of other sizes, colors or bundles on the same page.
What to check in the result.
Verify price, availability and specifications against the correct variant. Leave missing fields blank and retain the source reference so another person can resolve an uncertain attribute.
Import the CSV with a consistent delimiter and inspect text identifiers, dates and amounts before using spreadsheet totals. Keep the original file available while checking any automatic type conversion.
Learn from the worked example.
The downloadable CSV example uses these columns: Product, SKU, Price, Currency, Availability, Product URL. Compare a complete record with the source before sorting, combining or importing your own output.
The supplied example is illustrative. It is not a recorded run on your data.
