How to use the Customer Onboarding Email Checklist.
An onboarding communication audit should compare messages with real milestones. More emails do not fix an unclear activation path.
Make the workflow fit your task.
Map onboarding messages to milestones such as account setup, source connection and first completed task. Compare each message's trigger, instructions and next action with the actual journey. Identify missing guidance separately from poorly timed or duplicate messages.

Illustrative input and output · a teaching example, not a live WebAct run
Example input
Onboarding flow: welcome email after signup; user connects first source; no message explains the next task. Proposed message owner: onboarding lead.
Completed example
Checklist finding: Milestone: first source connected. Current message: none. Gap: user has no instruction for the first useful task. Proposed content: explain how to preview one import and inspect the mapping before approval. Owner to confirm: onboarding lead. Check before activation: send only to users who connected a source and have not completed that next task.
Load this input into the prompt, then copy it to WebAct to try the task. Your result may differ from the illustration.
Decisions and troubleshooting.
Should every onboarding milestone generate another email?
Only when a message helps the user take a useful next step. In-product guidance or an existing message may already cover it.
Why do users receive instructions for a step they already completed?
The trigger or suppression condition may be wrong. Check event definitions and eligibility before rewriting the copy.
Try it with your own source.
Replace the example with your material in the task prompt. Keep the requirements you need, then copy the task into WebAct.
