How to turn a Confluence page into readable Markdown
Markdown provides a portable way to work with the selected text of a Confluence page. The useful export preserves the organization and references that make the page understandable.

Retain headings, lists and link destinations from the readable content. Keep code or quoted text intact and identify interactive elements that cannot be represented faithfully in the selected text.
What to check in the result.
Review the rendered Markdown beside the source. A page conversion should not claim to include hidden macro content, attachments or other pages that were not provided.
Preview the Markdown to check headings, lists and links as well as the words. Keep source references with the document so a reviewer can trace important statements back to the material you supplied.
Learn from the worked example.
The downloadable Markdown example shows one possible organization of the result. Read it alongside the source example and notice which statements are recorded facts, proposed wording or questions still needing an answer.
