Your first few minutes with WebAct.
Install the extension, sign in, choose your connection, and bring WebAct to a page.
Bring WebAct to Chrome.
Follow the installation instructions on Get started. During the preview, use the package provided to you; a public store link will appear there when available. Pin WebAct in Chrome’s toolbar.
Open a regular webpage. Browser settings, extension-store pages, and some protected pages restrict extension injection.
Sign in to your WebAct account.
Open the account page provided with your installation and create an account or sign in. Email verification supports a six-digit code or a verification link. Keep the account page and extension in the same Chrome profile.
The extension checks the website session and detects sign-in automatically. Different profiles, private windows, and different devices have separate sessions. Google sign-in is available only when configured by the hosted service.
Connect your browser model.
Choose browser mode and ChatGPT. WebAct detects the provider’s existing session or asks you to sign in. Your ChatGPT account is separate from your WebAct account; signing in to one does not sign you in to the other.
Provider availability and rate limits still apply. Managed AI requires a paid WebAct subscription and is billed separately by usage.
Open WebAct on the page.
Click the WebAct toolbar icon to activate it on your current tab. The small orange launcher opens its panel. Use the handle to move the launcher to a comfortable position.
Start in Chat with a simple question about a selected paragraph. When you want a concrete page action, switch to Task and describe the intended result.
Check the outcome.
For your first automation, choose a small job such as extracting a visible table. Review any requested approvals and compare the final result with the page. Save a successful task if it is worth repeating.
