How to plan form test scenarios around real field rules
A form test plan helps a team inspect normal input, boundaries and failure behavior systematically. The scenarios should reflect the form's actual rules and the decisions that still need confirmation.
Start with the right material.
- What you provide
- one ordinary form and its visible validation rules.
- The intended result
- Save positive, empty-input and boundary test scenarios without submitting the form.
How the workflow works.
Use the supplied field definitions and conditional behavior to propose valid, missing and invalid input cases. Keep expected results traceable to the requirements rather than guessing error messages.
What to check in the result.
Review dependencies between fields and the final submission behavior. Proposed cases remain unexecuted, and any ambiguous rule should be resolved before a pass or fail judgment is recorded.
Import the CSV with a consistent delimiter and inspect text identifiers, dates and amounts before using spreadsheet totals. Keep the original file available while checking any automatic type conversion.
Learn from the worked example.
The downloadable CSV example uses these columns: Scenario, Input condition, Expected result, Status. Compare a complete record with the source before sorting, combining or importing your own output.
The supplied example is illustrative. It is not a recorded run on your data.

- Open the source you want to work with and activate WebAct on that tab.
- Copy the task from the hero, add any required fields or preferences, and review the proposed actions.
- Compare the first result with your source. Ask for a specific correction or refinement where needed.
