Look at the purchase order: ten units at forty dollars each. Now look at the invoice: ten units at forty-two dollars each. What matches, and what differs? Take a moment to write your answer.

The quantity matches at ten units. The unit price is two dollars higher on the invoice, creating a twenty-dollar difference across the line. Record that price exception for review; do not assume which document should be changed.
