Substitute Teacher Plan Generator — illustrative example

INPUT
Prepare a 30-minute substitute plan using a printed passage already studied. Goal: support an interpretation with a text detail. Projector may be unavailable. Materials: printed passage and paper.

RESULT
0–5 min: distribute the printed passage and explain the goal: support an interpretation with a detail from the text.
5–10 min: learners reread and mark one important detail.
10–20 min: in pairs, explain what the detail suggests and why.
20–27 min: each learner writes an interpretation followed by its supporting detail.
27–30 min: collect responses and note questions for the regular teacher.
Fallback: all activities use printed material; no projector is required. Class-specific routines and support contacts should accompany the plan.

REVIEW
A substitute plan should be usable without hidden knowledge of the class. Include materials, timing, routines and a practical fallback.
